The MG ZS, packing styling and tech updates, has officially gone on sale in Indonesia.
The facelift starts at, well, the subcompact SUV's nose, with a larger grille and headlights which are bordered by swishes of LED. It also looks like the fog light housings have been covered in black, and pushed to the bumper's sides for an aggressive look.
Meanwhile, the top variant gets 17-inch black and silver "Tomahawk" wheels, while the rear gets a similar treatment as with the front. The LED taillamps repeat the swish LED shape, while the bumper wears possible faux air dams.
Three ZS trims are available, starting with the entry-level Activate, Ignite, and Magnify. The ZS's Indonesian prices across the variants are equivalent to roughly P949,000 to P1.090 million.
All ZS variants receive a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Bluetooth connectivity, as standard. The ZS Activate gets four speakers and four USB ports, while the Ignite and Magnify are fitted with six speakers and five USB charging ports.
For safety, the ZS achieved the full five stars in the ASEAN NCAP crash safety test, with its two airbags, ABS, electronic stability control, and a seatbelt reminder system. On top the five stars, electronic brake assist, curve brake control, hill start assist system, Isofix child seat anchoring points, and five three-point seat belts, have been added to the mix.
As for the top-tier ZS, it's got more toys with a 360-degree surround view camera, tire pressure monitoring system, and automatic headlights. It also shares a passive cruise control with the ZS Ignite.
Inside, the ZS Ignite and Magnify replace the Activates fabric seats with brown and black leather ones. The Magnify gets power adjustable seats, and perhaps an exclusive panoramic sunroof.
More interior accoutrements across the range include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, soft-touch plastics for key touch points, single-zone climate control, push-start ignition, and an electronic handbrake switch.
Behind the new grille resides a 1.5 liter four-cylinder gasoline engine, the same mill as with the pre-update ZS. It produces 112hp and 150Nm of torque, which drives the front wheels through a CVT with eight virtual ratios. Three drive modes, Urban, Normal, and Dynamic could put the "sport" in SUV.
