Good news to those who have been eyeing to have the new Toyota GR86 in their garage: its local retail sales will begin tomorrow.
As mentioned in an earlier report, the all-new Toyota GR86 sports a bigger 2.4-liter horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine (the previous version had a 2.0-liter Boxer engine) that is matched to a six-speed (manual and automatic) transmission.
Since the vehicle is affected by the company's current supply limitation, some of those who have pre-ordered will likely have their units turned over. To note, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) started the pre-orders for the all-new GR86 on August 6.
According to TMP, the two variants will be offered at the following prices: the one fitted with a manual slushbox is at P2.328 million while the automatic transmission kind, P2.499 million.
The leading local automotive distributor the shared the information after the highly-anticipated model graced the second leg of the Gazoo Racing (GR) Vios Cup held last weekend.
TMP said in a statement that the latest addition to the country’s GR roster provided more fun as it navigated the tracks of the Clark International Speedway alongside the Japanese brand’s pocket rocket, the GR Yaris.
The company gave a sneak peek of the all-new Toyota GR86 during the Toyota GR Festival July 21 last month.
The Gazoo-fied version of the Toyota 86 had its debut in April last year, weeks after the second-generation Subaru BRZ was first shown to the world.
