Rolls-Royce has dropped the drapes off the limited Black Badge Wraith Black Arrow.
According to the British ultra-luxury car brand, the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Wraith Black Arrow is limited to only 12 units — all of which have been allocated to clients around the world.
Further, it is said to be the last V12-powered coupe from the famed carmaker as Rolls-Royce is poised to embark on an all-electric future.
“Wraith is one of the most significant and influential cars we have ever made at Goodwood. Its extraordinary power, performance, and presence opened the Rolls-Royce brand to an entirely new group of clients. It created its own following within contemporary culture and then expanded that further in its alternative Black Badge guise. As the last examples of this landmark motor car get ready to leave Goodwood, we commemorate Wraith’s status as the last series V12 coupé we will ever make,” said Rolls-Royce Chief Executive Officer Torsten Müller-Ötvös.
The Rolls-Royce Black Badge Wraith Black Arrow is finished with an exclusive gradient paint that features two tones: Celebration Silver and Black Diamond. The gradual transition from silver to black was achieved by applying a glass-infused Crystal paint between the two colors.
The paint, Rolls-Royce pointed out, also gives the Black Badge Wraith Black Arrow a subtle texture inspired by the crusted surface of the Bonneville Salt Flats.
Providing subtle contrast to the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Wraith Black Arrow’s noir-like exterior are bumper inserts and V-struts (located behind the radiator grille and in front of the engine) finished in Bright Yellow. Likewise, its wheels and its layered carbon fiber Spirit of Ecstasy mascot also get Bright Yellow accents.
Inside the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Wraith Black Arrow are more unique appointments.
The cabin is finished with a new material type, specifically developed for the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Wraith Black Arrow. Called “Club Leather,” the premium hide is applied on the car’s armrests, seat gussets, transmission tunnel, door detail, door panniers, and lower dashboard panel.
Club Leather boasts a greater sheen and a deeper black hue. Additionally, the leather’s natural markings are intentionally emphasized to give the interior more visible “life lines,” and a closer resemblance to what was described at the time as “the club-armchair type of driving seat which George [Eyston> prefers above all others.”
The interior also boasts a bespoke veneer with over 320 multi-directional and lasered marquetry pieces that mimic the cracked, irregular surface of the Bonneville Salt Flats. Moreover, it flaunts a bespoke Starlight Headliner with 2,117 fiber-optic “stars” — the greatest number ever seen in a Rolls-Royce motor car.
Bright Yellow accents can be found on the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Wraith Black Arrow’s dashboard, steering wheel, door trims, seats, and its Black Arrow clock. The timepiece features unique elements including black hand tips and a “357.497 mph” inscription.
Right beside the analog clock is a fascia specifically designed for the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Wraith Black Arrow. Depicted is a representation of the V12 engine, which is a nod to the car being Rolls-Royce’s last V12 coupe.
Speaking of which, Rolls-Royce also gave the Black Badge Wraith Black Arrow a bespoke plaque mounted on the engine cover to commemorate the final V12 coupe. The badge is made from a single piece of polished metal and features a V12 monogram in Bright Yellow and the inscription “Final Coupé Collection” in black.
“Both Black Badge Wraith Black Arrow and its inspiration, the V12-powered land speed record-holding Thunderbolt of the thirties, represent the culmination of many long years of achievement, and the end of their respective eras. This magnificent final V12 coupé Collection captures both the significance and spirit of Wraith through the marque’s hallmark and peerless Bespoke capabilities. A fitting finale for this transformative motor car,” Müller-Ötvös added.
