RS Q8 to spearhead arrival of Audi Sport line in PH
Following the confirmation that the Audi RS models are on their way to the country, Audi Philippines announced that the RS Q8—the top model for the Audi Sport Q product line of SUVs—will arrive in their showroom this month.
Back in 2019, RS Q8 covered the north loop of the famed Nurburgring in 7 minutes and 42.253 seconds, holding the fastest time set by a production SUV.
Such feat was achieved thanks to its 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged TFSI V8 engine, capable of 600- horsepower and 800-Nm churn. This helps the RS Q8 zoom 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds and up to 200 km/h in 13.7 seconds.
Just like other Audi Sport RS models, the RS Q8 is equipped with quattro permanent all-wheel drive, handling the powertrain with the eight-speed tiptronic transmission. The quattro name depicts sportiness, safe driving, technical expertise and peak performance in a competitive environment.
Coming as standard to the RS Q8 is the RS adaptive air suspension sport—with performance-specific damper tuning—to further ensure dynamic handling while maintaining ride comfort. This also helps adjust the ride height by as much as 90 millimeters.
The distinguishing factor of the RS Q8 from the standard Q8 is the octagonal Singleframe, RS-specific radiator grille in high-gloss black, side air inlets, and the quattro blisters above the wheel arches. The RS-available trims gives volume to the RS Q8’s width by 10 millimeters in front and five millimeters in the rear. Complementing the overall look is the RS roof edge spoiler and rear skirt with a diffuser clip and the 23-inch sport alloy wheels.
For its interior, the RS Q8 has special RS displays and graphics in the Audi virtual cockpit and MMI, which includes a shift light.
Further, the RS Q8 also has a host of assistive features—over 30 of them—which include adaptive cruise assist, efficiency assist, lane-change warning and 360 degree cameras.
The said model, according to Audi Philippines, will be joined by the new RS3 Sedan and RS 6 Avant to introduce the Audi Sport brand locally.
Other Audi Sport RS models, including the new R8 supercar, are set to be launched in the Philippines throughout 2021.
“RS vehicles have a strong and unique character: spontaneous maximum performance wherever and whenever desired. This is achieved thanks to breathtaking design, high-end look and feel, and outstanding quality,” said Audi Sport Managing Director Oliver Hoffmann.
Back in November, Carmudi Philippines reported the coming of the Audi Sport models in the country.
