Changan Motor Philippines Inc. (CMPI) assured that the SafeTech features found on the new CS35 Plus will surely keep motorists safe under any weather condition.
In a statement, CMPI shared that the sport utility vehicle (SUV) offering is better equipped to deal with difficult road conditions with its suite of technologies that is “rare to find in vehicles of its segment.”
The company said that the new CS35 Plus’ adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function helps drivers maintain a desired speed between 30-150kph and automatically adjusts the speed once the built-in radar detects an approaching vehicle.
Meanwhile, the crossover's autonomous emergency braking (AEB) system will assist the driver in stopping the crossover to avoid accidents. The AEB goes hand-in-hand with the front collision warning system that displays a visual alert on the digital instrument panel and sets off an alarm when it senses possible collision with the vehicle in front.
Further, the electronic stability program (ESP) automatically applies brakes to individual wheels to neutralize loss of directional control while maintaining vehicle stability.
CMPI also said that the new Changan CS35 Plus’ split headlamp with daytime running lights and whale-tail tail lamps (all on LED) dish out sufficient illumination to ensure that the vehicle is highly visible even during a heavy downpour. Aside from that, the headlamp height adjuster allows the driver to direct the lights in the best angle to see better through the rain. The emergency brake lights blink rapidly when the vehicle makes hard stops to to warn motorists behind.
Moreover, the SUV has an around-view camera that gives clear images onto the large 10-inch touchscreen display when parking or maneuvering through tight spaces. Complementing the feature is the HD Driving Recorder that automatically records all the sides captured by the cameras before and after accidents occur. CMPI said that the videos are saved in the Micro SD card inside the module above the brake pedal, and can be quickly viewed on the 10-inch touchscreen monitor.
Lastly, the new Changan CS35 Plus wears an ultra-high strength body — making it more durable and decay- and crash-resistant when compared to its predecessors.
CMPI noted based on a report from the Metro Manila Accident Reporting and Analysis System (MMARAS), nearly half of the 26,000 documented road accidents in the National Capital Region in 2020 happened from June to October—the country's known wet season.
The new Changan CS35 is retailed in three variants: Lite 1.4L 7DCT (P999,000); Hype 1.4L 7DCT (P1.149 million); and Luxe 1.4L 7DCT (P1.169 million).
