The third Shell Recharge facility is at Seven/NEO in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.In partnership with sustainable real estate company NEO, the latest Shell Recharge station at Seven/NEO BGC (Bonifacio Global City) in Taguig has two AC 22-kilowatt charging points that can juice up two electric cars simultaneously.
Earlier, Pilipinas Corporation (SPC) inaugurated two Recharge stations within Luzon — one within its pump facility inside South Luzon Expressway along Mamplasan and the recently-inaugurated establishment at Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway Rosario Exit in La Union.
The newest Shell Recharge Station in Taguig marks a very significant milestone as it is the brand’s first-ever 100-percent geothermal powered charging facility worldwide.
“Shell is already a global leader in the EV space, and we are happy to work with our customers and partners across private and public sectors as we decarbonize Mobility and power progress in the Philippines. NEO is a leader in sustainable real estate and shares Shell’s vision of a lower carbon future,” Shell Vice President for Mobility Randy Del Valle was quoted as saying.
The first electric vehicles to charge using the new station were Shell’s fleet of electric service vehicles used to service staff.
Spearheaded by the company’s chief executive officer Raymond Rufino (who also sits in the Urban Land Institute FY24 advisory board), NEO is the country’s first net-zero portfolio of buildings. The establishments were certified with the Philippine Green Building Council’s (PhilGBC) Advancing Net Zero Philippines and the International Finance Corporation’s EDGE Zero Carbon.
