Shell PH’s Mamplasan station switches to renewable energy
Pilipinas Shell’s Mamplasan mobility station at the Biñan, Laguna northbound lane of the South Luzon Expressway has switched to renewable energy. The power will come from Shell Energy Philippines (SEPH).

Currently, there are two Shell mobility sites that powered by renewable energy from SEPH, the Mamplasan station and the one in Balagtas, Bulacan.According to Shell, stations with Shell Recharge charging points will be powered through a mix of solar, geothermal, and hydro energies.
The aforementioned station is the second Shell mobility site to be powered by renewable energy from SEPH — the first one being the Shell North Luzon Tollway 1 (NLT1) in Balagtas, Bulacan.
Country Chair for Shell companies in the Philippines Lorelie Quiambao-Osial said that the switch to renewable energy reflects the firm’s commitment to reducing carbon footprint. “We continue to work with partners in the decarbonization journey as we transition to a lower carbon economy.”
The oil giant started its move on transforming retail fuel stations into one-stop mobility destinations that feature sustainable solutions in 2020. The initiatives are aimed at cutting down energy consumption by approximately 30 percent, as compared to a traditional site.
To note, SEPH is a retail electricity supplier under the Shell Group that delivers environment-friendly energy solutions to industrial and commercial customers in the country. It has a wide range of energy sources from full renewable energies to the traditional supply of electricity to meet the changing requirements of its customers.
