Mazda Philippines will surely give its followers a treat as it gave a glimpse of what its booth at the at the
2018 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS).
In a special sneak preview for the press and members of their recognized car clubs, Mazda Philippines, headed by its president
Steven Tan, unveiled the updates for its three well-loved vehicles--the
Mazda6,
Mazda CX-9, and the
hardtop Mazda MX-5. These three highly-anticipated vehicles will surely tickle one's taste buds in the largest motor show event of the year, spearheaded by the
Chamber of the Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI).
First, the 2019 Mazda6 will be sporting a new grille design and new 19-inch rims. It will be available in two powertrain variety:
- a 2.5-liter gasoline engine with cylinder deactivation system that can deliver an improved 187 hp (compared to the previous 184 hp) and 252 Nm of torque (versus the 250 Nm of the old-spec) and sips less fuel by up to 20 percent (at constant pace of 40 kph); and
- a 2.2-liter SKYACTIV diesel with variable geometry twin-turbo that can dish out 187 hp and 450 Nm of torque, unlike the 173 hp and 420 of the old design.
Inside, the Mazda6 provides utmost elegance with perfect combination of
wood, satin chrome, and suede on the panels, complementing the
brown Nappa leather interior with
ventilated seats in the front and
chrome accents on the rear seats, and the
frameless rearview mirror, giving the European luxe some competition. Aside from that, the Mazda6 added nifty features like the
360-degree view displayed on the
eight-inch MZD Connect Screen. Aside from that, it has a
seven-inch LCD Meter set display, that provides a modern feel to what is already an innovating "dream machine" as the Mazda Philippines chief puts it. Executives from Mazda Philippines claimed that the Mazda 6 now has
reduced NVH levels as it now has
thicker floor panels and rear wheel housing and
reduced gaps between panels and interior materials.
Same with the latest Mazda 6, the 2018
CX-9 will also be sporting the
signature Nappa leather seats with ventilated seats and
360-degree view of the Camera when on reverse,
LCD meter display, and is said to have
improved NVH performance. The newest CX-9 to be unraveled will have
Android Auto and
Apple CarPlay that can be accessed through the sleek infotainment system fitted in every top-tier Mazda unit.
Finally, the new Mazda MX-5 is said to have a
more flexible driving position, but the glaring addition to it would have an
RF Club Edition where it will have
BBS rims,
Recaro seats and a
reverse camera for A/T-equipped models with improved engine performance at
181 hp and 205 max torque.
