Back in May 2019,
Ferrari revealed the
Ferrari SF90 Stradale, the Italian carmaker's
first series-production plug-in hybrid electric vehicle.
With its
986 hp output, a weight-to-power ratio of
1.57 kg/hp, and
390 kg of downforce at 250 kph, Ferrari calls the SF90 Stradale as the
first V8 to top Ferrari's model range in the marque's history--which means it's more powerful than its flagship V12 model which is currently bannered by the
Ferrari 812 Superfast, which, in comparison, puts out "only" 789 hp.
The things is, while Ferrari has said that the SF90 Stradale is a series-production model, it has
yet to set a firm price on it, much less
share how many units it'll produce--either by the month, annually, or in total.
"With a model like the Stradale, Ferrari will first entertain queries about the car before it actually makes it," said our source from
Motostrada, Inc. "And with Ferrari,
if it gets 100 inquiries, it will only produce 99--or even less."
Our souce did share
one firm piece of information with CARMUDI PHILIPPINES:
"Someone has already placed an order on the Stradale."
So, who could it be? Could it be hospitality industry magnate
Angie King, who's
no stranger to purchasing exclusive, limited-edition Ferraris, or someone else--like the scion of a taxi magnate who has made buying and selling cars on the side while helping run the family business a profitable affair?
Your guess is as good as ours.
And on another note, Motostrada, Inc. is the new name of Ferrari and Maserati's Philippine-market distributor
following the entry of Dennis Uy. For the uninitiated, Uy is the head of
Udenna Corporation, the holding company behind the
Phoenix brand of petroleum products.
