It seems that it is all systems go for the official launch of the latest version of the Isuzu mu-X this September.
Based on the information provided to Carmudi Philippines, the local distributor of the Japanese vehicle manufacturer is eyeing to have the virtual launch of the highly-anticipated model by the second week of September.
“The tentative schedule is by the second week next month, should circumstances permit,” the source shared.
Over the weekend, the lockdown level in Metro Manila, Laguna and Bataan has been relaxed to modified enhanced community quarantine from the strictest enhanced community quarantine following the surge of COVID-19 cases.
While at it, the informant shared some details about the forthcoming model, which was recently unveiled in neighboring Thailand.
The all-new Isuzu mu-X will be offered in two engine options: the 4JJ-TCX (3.0liter Ddi Blue Power) and the 1.9 RZ4E-TC (1.9 Blue Power Gen 2) which sounds very familiar since these two are the same engine fitted in the outgoing model.
While this is the case, the incoming version of Isuzu SUV has been re-engineered as it now sports a new chassis design with larger side rails, eight cross member, larger chassis side rail — providing torsional rigidity as well as improved durability and handling.
Just like its pick-up truck brethren Isuzu D-Max (which was released here early this year), the Isuzu mu-X now wears a sexier design with its sleeker lines compared to its predecessor. Both the incoming SUV and the D-Max are equipped with the same front fascia design.
Further, the Philippine-bound Isuzu mu-X will also be equipped with the Advance Driver Assist System (ADAS) that utilizes a Smart Duo Camera to dish out a more accurate reading in terms of safety.
Early last week, Isuzu Philippines Corporation released on its website and official Facebook page teaser photos of the mu-X with a caption, “Are you ready to TAKE THE LEAD?” which signals its campaign for the said model.
