SsangYong Partners with Bailey of Bristol for a Caravan Road-trip Adventure
UK's biggest caravan manufacturers, Bailey of Bristol, is embarking on a 3,500-mile intercontinental caravan adventure to Morocco together with the Caravan and Motorhome Club . And to support this 'Sahara Challenge', SsangYong Motors will supply the company with three of its vehicles to use for Bailey's 20-day travel adventure.
“The 20-day Sahara Challenge will demonstrate just where a caravan and a SsangYong tow car can take you," said Simon Howard, marketing director at Bailey of Bristol.
"We are delighted to have SsangYong’s support with three superb and capable vehicles and are very excited about the trip – watch this space!”
The Sahara Challenge
The challenge will start from the Bailey production facility in Bristol. Afterwards, they will go to Spain and Portugal and across the Strait of Gibraltar into Morocco. Afterwards, they will go over the Atlas Mountains and as far south as the edge of the Sahara Desert – the birthplace of the original caravans – before returning home. The entire team will be made up of representatives from Bailey of Bristol, the Caravan and Motorhome Club and media guests. Their journey will take them around 20 days to complete. Aside from the long journey, the team will have to face a range of potentially extreme road and weather conditions along their travels.Partnership with SsangYong
SsangYong Motors will provide the team SsangYong Korando Pioneer, a vehicle designed with the caravanning market in mind. SsangYong's flagship SUV the Rexton 4x4 will also be part of the journey. Meanwhile, the support team for the challenge will use the award-winning Musso Saracen pick-up that will carry crew and vital equipment. All three models will come well-equipped, and include value for money packages. Moreover, they will come with a surprising level of interior refinement and infotainment, as well as an impressive 7-year/150,000-mile warranty. “We are delighted to be supporting the Sahara Challenge," said Nick Laird, managing director at SsangYong Motors UK "The crew will endure challenging terrain and weather, but our vehicles will be right at home demonstrating how they tackle real-world conditions, doing what they do best – rugged terrain, and towing!” Laird also added how the trip will be a "perfect challenge" for them, since the caravan market has "been and still is extremely important for SsangYong in the UK " The team will regularly post blog updates and social media updates via the Bailey of Bristol, the Caravan and Motorhome Club and the SsangYong Motors UK social media channels using the hashtag, #SaharaChallenge. Also Read
