It seems that SsangYong Philippines cannot keep their hands away from the petrol-powered Tivoli Sport as they have decided to bring it back.
Back in November last year, SsangYong Berjaya Motor Philippines Sales and Maketing Manager Germain Alilio told CARMUDI PHILIPPINES that they are currently running out of stock of the gasoline-run Tivoli following the introduction of the latest-generation Tivoli.
Asked whether they would completely phase out the Ssangyong Tivoli gasoline variant, Alilio said then that the possibility is under study.
After being out for a while, the said variant is now making a comeback.
The Ssangyong Tivoli Sport Gas is placed between the top-of-the-line Tivoli 1.6-liter Diesel Premium and the 1.6-liter Diesel Sport, giving customers again the option to get the smooth and refined driving experience they are accustomed to before.
The gasoline variety of the Tivoli Sport has a 1.6-liter e-XDGi160 engine that can dish out a maximum 128 horsepower and 160Nm of torque. This is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Now sporting a fresh, eye-catching design, the SsangYong Tivoli Gas Sport boasts a confident stance that undoubtedly deserves a second look. SsangYong Philippines’ latest offering is poised to make Tivoli customers feel the fun yet again as it reintroduces the peppy 1.6-liter e-XDGi160 gasoline engine that Tivoli owners have come to love since the South Korean SUV-specialist brand made its comeback in 2016.
SsangYong Philippines President Japheth Castillo claimed that the extensive lineup of the Tivoli Sport would provide the market alternatives in the subcompact crossover market.
“The new SsangYong Tivoli lineup is our answer to the growing needs of many car buyers for reasonably priced, feature-rich alternatives in the growing subcompact crossover space. Though we pride ourselves with our extensive diesel-engine crossover and SUV lineup, we believe there is still a large demand for gasoline-engined vehicles, especially when they come with eye-catching design aesthetics like the Tivoli Gas Sport,” he said.
The latest SsangYong Tivoli Gas Sport features one of the longest wheelbase measurements in its class at 2,600mm, which translates to more legroom and cargo space for small families.
Sitting on 18-inch wheels, it also has a 167-mm ground clearance, making it capable on various road conditions.
It also enjoys a color-adjustable instrument cluster found in the Tivoli Diesel Sport and an eight-inch touchscreen LCD Smart Audio, Bluetooth-equipped infotainment system with Carplay and Android Auto connectivity that the range-topping kind has.
It also comes standard with Dual Airbags, ABS, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Brake Assist, a burglar alarm and a rear view camera.
Just like every offering, SsangYong Philippines offers a three-year free preventive maintenance service as well as a five year vehicle warranty on the the Tivoli Gas Sport.
All that for P1.12 million.
However, they are also throwing a special introductory price slash of P150,000, bringing the price down to P970,000.
