Subaru Forester e-BOXER Best in Class in 2019 Euro NCAP

The European spec Subaru Forester e-BOXER has just been named the Best in Class Cars of 2019 in the Small Off Road/MPV category by the Euro New Car Assessment Program (NCAP). Subaru is no stranger to obtaining accolades from NCAP, as multiple vehicles from their current lineup also get five star ratings from other NCAPs such as the JNCAP and the ASEAN NCAP. This is also isn’t the first time that Subaru has received this award, as both the Subaru XV and Subaru Impreza were awarded the Best in Class Cars of 2017 in the Small Family Car segment. The Best in Class Cars of 2019 award is given to the best performing model in each class, with each model after undergoing rigorous safety performance tests and several evaluations. The new Subaru Forester e-BOXER was awarded a five star overall rating, receiving exceptional scores in all four of the assessment categories (Adult Occupant, Child Occupant, Vulnerable Road Users, and Safety Assist.)

'In both the frontal and side barrier tests, protection of all critical body areas was good for both dummies and the Forester scored maximum points in this part of the assessment. The front passenger airbag is automatically disabled when a rearward-facing child restraint is put in that seating position. Tests showed that the system worked robustly and the system was rewarded. All of the restraint types for which the Forester is designed could be properly installed and accommodated in the car,' according to the official crash test report of the Euro NCAP. Subaru is known for being serious about passenger safety thanks to the Subaru Global Platform, which redesigned the overall layout of the body and chassis and allowed a 40% increase in the structural strength of the vehicles.

It is equipped with a plethora of safety tech features such as EyeSight driver assist technology that provides Pre-Collision Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, and other functions, Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection, Reverse Automatic Braking and a Driver Monitoring System.
