Subaru announced that the 2022 Forester SUV has earned the highest possible rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), a nonprofit organization in the US that promotes road safety.
In a recent press release, Subaru said that the 2022 Forester’s headlights and EyeSight Driver Assist Technology systems allowed the nameplate to earn superior ratings in the tests it was subjected to.
These tests include six crashworthiness evaluations, crash prevention tests, and a headlight assessment. Of these tests, the 2022 Subaru Forester scored Good in its crashworthiness evaluations, Superior in its crash prevention tests, and Good in its headlight assessment. In addition, it also scored Good in seatbelt reminder and child restraints evaluations.
“The Forester, beloved by so many, has earned its 16th consecutive IIHS Top Safety Pick award. We are committed to providing customers with vehicles set to the highest safety standards year over year and this streak is a testament to that commitment,” said Subaru of America, Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer Thomas J. Doll.
The 2022 Subaru Forester is joined by other nameplates from the brand including the Subaru Ascent, Subaru BRZ (with EyeSight), Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid, Subaru Legacy, and the Subaru Outback.
Other models that won this year's Top Safety Pick include the Subaru Crosstrek and the five-door Subaru Impreza.
