Subaru PH Models Now Come with 5-Year Warranty
With technology making cars more reliable and durable than ever, it’s only natural for new car warranties to be extended beyond the usual 3-year limit. Subaru becomes the next car maker to now offer their vehicles with a five-year warranty as standard.
Starting July 1, 2019, every vehicle in the Subaru PH lineup--save for the STI--will carry the new five-year/100,000-km warranty (whichever comes first) being offered by the Japanese car brand. As long as you purchase your vehicle from an authorized Subaru dealer, you can enjoy this extended warranty on your Subaru car.
For WRX STI buyers, fear not, for although the car has a three-year/60,000-km warranty overall, its engine, drivetrain and transmission are covered by the new warranty scheme.
All new Subaru vehicles sold starting July 1, 2019 will be covered by the extended warranty. Meanwhile, customers who bought their car between June 1 and June 30 may qualify for the extended warranty as long as their sale is officially documented in the daily sales report submitted by their authorized Subaru dealership and if they follow the prescribed periodic maintenance schedule (PMS), especially the first checkup.
Before Subaru PH extended its warranty, the STI had a very short one-year/20,000-km limit, while the rest of its vehicles had a three-year/100,000-km warranty.
