Motor Image Pilipinas Inc. (MIPI) announced that the WRX nameplate will be arriving a few days from now and will be coming in two body options: sedan and wagon.
The newest confirmation for the arrival for Subaru’s two new local offerings came following the invitation received by Carmudi Philippines recently.
Based on the invitation (dubbed as “Ignite your Senses”), MIPI will officially launch the Subaru WRX sedan and wagon on June 8. No details pertaining to the vehicles’ specifications were shared as of the moment.
It can be recalled that as early December last year, Tan Chong International Limited Deputy Chair and Managing Director Glenn Tan announced the arrival of the model. During the virtual meet last year, Tan said that the model is expected to be offered by June 2022.
The soon-to-be-introduced models will likely be powered by a 2.4-liter turbocharged power mill. The sedan version could be equipped with a six-speed or eight-speed automatic transmission (or both) while the five-door might only be available in eight-speed transmission.
