Subaru revealed the new WRX and the WRX Wagon at the ongoing 2023 Singapore Motor Show at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Center.
Both sedan and wagon variants are equipped with LED headlamps with auto-leveling functions and a pair of LED fog lamps at the fore. Also noticeable are those hood scoops, which one may say are a hallmark of Subie cars thanks to their rally-rooted background.
Further, the new Subaru WRX gets front fender air outlets while the range-topping WRX Wagon variant gets a chrome-accented front bumper.
To the sides are 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels for the Subaru WRX, which complements the variant-specific sports side garnish, and 18-inch machined aluminum alloy wheels for the WRX Wagon.
At the rear are trunk spoilers for the Subaru WRX and roof spoilers for the WRX Wagon. In the same regard, the former gets twin dual-tail mufflers while the latter is fitted with twin-tail mufflers. As for lighting, both sedan and wagon body types get LED rear combination lamps and a pair of LED rear fog lamps.
Select models of the new Subaru WRX and WRX Wagon get a power-sliding, tilt-adjustable, glass sunroof.
Powering both the Subaru WRX and WRX Wagon is a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder, turbocharged engine mated to either a six-speed manual (for the sedan model) or a Sport Lineartronic with VTD-AWD and sports shifting control.
On paper, Subaru said that this setup makes as much as 271 horsepower with 350Nm of pulling power. In addition, the Japanese carmaker states that it can make the six-speed manual-equipped model go from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in six seconds. Meanwhile, the Sport Lineatronic-fitted models can achieve the same acceleration speed in 6.1 seconds.
Alongside the unboxed Subaru WRX and WRX Wagon are the Subaru Forester e-Boxer Hybrid GT edition and the Solterra electric sport utility vehicle.
Subaru will continue to showcase its products at the 2023 Singapore Motor Show, which will run until January 15, 2023.
