According to the automotive brand, the 2023 Subaru Ascent will be launched in six variants: Base, Premium, Onyx Edition, Limited, Touring, and the new Onyx Edition Limited.

The 2023 Subaru Ascent has six variants: Base, Premium, Onyx Edition, Limited, Touring, and the new Onyx Edition Limited.
  • What is the price range of the 2023 Subaru Ascent?

The 2023 Subaru Ascent is priced from US$33,895 to US$48,195.
  • The 2023 Subaru Ascent gets a new front fascia with a more prominent grille, redesigned LED headlights, and a more aggressive front bumper cover. The new front bumper cover features new lower-edge air ducts to improve aerodynamic flow under the vehicle. At the back of the SUV are a pair of updated Konoji (C-shaped) taillights. It also gets raised roof rails and 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels as standard.

Inside are a suite of standard amenities including front tri-zone and rear automatic climate control, automatic power door locks, power windows and side mirrors, a security system with engine immobilizer, rear vision camera, USB-A and USB-C input/charge ports in the front center console, USB-A and USB-C charge ports in the rear center console, and dual USB-A input/charge ports in the third row.

New for 2023 is the Subaru Starlink 11.6-inch Multimedia Plus system, also standard across all variants.

All trims are also fitted with a standard 2.4-liter turbocharged boxer engine mated to a high-torque Lineartronic CVT (continuously variable transmission) featuring an eight-speed manual mode function and steering wheel paddle shifters. This setup produces 260 horsepower and around 375Nm of torque.

In addition, all grades also come with the latest version of EyeSight Driver Assist Technology as well as the Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and X-Mode with Hill Descent Control for exceptional all-weather and trail-driving capability.

The Onyx Edition builds upon the seven-passenger Premium trim and adds standard convenience features including Dual-function X-Mode, Heated Steering Wheel (360-degree), LED fog lights, a panoramic moonroof, and a cargo cover.

Meanwhile, the newly added Onyx Edition Limited comes equipped with the new Surround View Monitor System, the 11.6-inch Subaru Starlink Multimedia Navigation system, the DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation System, a 12-way power driver’s seat with four-way power lumbar and two-position memory, adjustable driver’s seat cushion extension, four-way power front passenger seat, second-row outboard heated seat positions, second-row sunshades, and exterior power mirrors with two-position memory synchronized with driver’s seat position memory.

Limited, on the other hand, comes with the standard features of the Onyx Edition Limited minus the navigation system. This trim, however, gets additional features such as Reverse Automatic Braking, Keyless Access with Push-Button Start, DriverFocus, LED fog lights, Dual-Function X-Mode, and Power Rear Gate. It also receives lower door cladding with chrome accents, body-color side mirrors with integrated turn signals, and machine-finished 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels in dark gray. The Limited is available in either seven- or eight-passenger configurations.

Lastly, the range-topping Touring variant gets all the toys the Limited has but gets an exclusive high gloss black grille, chrome door handles, and satin chrome power-folding exterior mirrors with integrated turn signals. The unique interior includes woodgrain-pattern matte finish accent trim and Java Brown perforated leather-trimmed upholstery with tan stitching. Also available is the Slate Black perforated leather-trimmed upholstery with silver stitching. Three-mode ventilated driver and front passenger seats are also standard on Touring.
