Suzuki PH Brings in More Big Bikes for Local Market
Suzuki Philippines has continued to strengthen its line-up in the big bike category as it unveiled its latest additions to cater to the growing needs of the Philippine market.
Dubbed as the 'Royal Arrival: the new Suzuki Big Bikes 2017 Launch,' Suzuki Philippines introduced five new big bikes that would cater the needs of every big bike enthusiast. The event was held last July 20 at the Suzuki Big Bikes Center Makati (also known as Suzuki Auto-Moto Makati).
Ramoncito Bontogon, Suzuki Philippines' marketing head for its motorcycle department, told Carmudi.com.ph that the new bike line-up was made to accommodate the growing demand of the Philippine motorcycle market.
The launch was headed by Suzuki Philippines President Hiroshi Suzuki who was joined by Managing Director Norminio Mojica, General Manager for Sales and Marketing Jun Bulot, and Regional Sales Manager for North Luzon Erick Fernandez.
For Wheeltek, President Reynaldo Odulio Sr., Executive Vice President Teresita Odulio, VP for Marketing and Sales Roscoe Odulio, General Manager for Big Bikes Bobby Orbe, and Regional Sales Manager Philip Garcia graced the launch.
Four new bikes were revealed during the launch led by the GSX-R1000 series--the GSX-R1000R and GSX-R1000--which recently won the Senior Tourist Trophy Isle of Man. Aside from that, they have also divulged the SV650A naked bike and the GSX-S750. Apart from the four, Suzuki showcased its updated version of their well-loved adventure bike, the V-Strom 1000XT.
Suzuki endorser Enrique Gil also attended the event where he received the new GSX-S750, together with comedian and fellow rider, Wally Bayola.
The GSX-R 1000 series has been engineered to provide the best handling and powerful acceleration in the sport bike line-up. Available in two versions, the GSX-R1000 and the limited- production GSX-R1000R will be equipped with street-legal amenities. The GSX-R1000 is available in Blue, Red and Matte Black for P955,000 while the GSX-R (which comes in blue) is pegged at P1.169 million--add an additional P20,000 if you want the special black finish for the latter.
Highly-sought after making its first appearance in March, the SV650A was anticipated to be the favorite among bike enthusiast. Powered by a V-Twin engine, the firing intervals of the engine create a heartbeat-like sound and produces linear power delivery. To further improve fuel efficiency and emissions, the SV650A has been equipped with Dual Spark technology, dual throttle valve and low RPM assist control. Sold at P399,000, the SV650A is available in three colors: Black, Blue, and White. The additional Red variant is said to be available within the year.
As for the GSX-S750, it is driven by its four-cylinder tuned to take on the streets with ample power and lesser emissions. Also tagged as the Apex predator, the GSX-S750 has a three-mode traction control that helps prevent rear-wheel spins. The price for the GSX-S750 starts at P539,000 for the Black/Blue and Red/Black models while the Matte Black variant will cost an additional P20,000.
The touring bike for Suzuki, the V-Strom 1000XT has a new-generation ABS which ensures safe maneuverability for mountain roads. Aside from that, it also features a combination brake, which automatically applies pressure to the rear brake after the front brake reaches a certain pressure. It also has the Motion Track Brake System which efficiently helps the riders to reduce speed while stabilizing the motorcycle as it maneuvers through lean angles. The V-Strom 1000XT is available in Yellow and White and is priced at P734,000.
