Sometimes it’s easier to make your way through the narrow city streets and manage the tight Metro traffic atop a motorcycle. And if you’re going to do it, why not do it in style?
That’s what the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX is for, an affordable maxi scooter aimed at city dwellers who are looking for a classy and elegant ride. Tweaked to suit the style and the motoring needs of young professionals and fashionable motorcycle enthusiasts, Suzuki Philippines endowed the standard Burgman Street 125 with appointments that bring it up a notch.
But are good looks enough to make the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX a motorcycle worth considering? Here are some of the things we found out after spending some saddle time with Suzuki Philippine’s latest offering.
In a segment where everybody is doing their best to look aggressive and sporty, the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX decided to look dashingly dapper.
Noticeable are its new colorways that contribute to the scooter’s executive look. The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX is available in Bronze and Matte Black.
Additionally, the presence of chrome appliques makes the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX look somewhat luxurious. These trims can be found predominantly on the front end of the motorcycle although there are silver fairings on both the fore and the sides of the motorbike that echo this design.
Similarly stylish is its two-tone seat.
Rounding up its impressive looks is a pair of wheels that somehow mimic the looks of TE37 mags that became popular in the ‘90s.
For those looking to make the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX their daily driver, I would have to say that its strongest suit is its comfortable ride.
With a longer wheelbase over the standard Suzuki Burgman Street 125 model, the EX variant offers a better experience when going through potholes or when moving over speed bumps.
In addition, its chunky tires also help improve stability when going through uneven roads.
The extended stepboard also helps make long rides comfortable as riders can safely stretch their legs without compromising balance.
However, do note that the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX measures 1,905 millimeters (mm) tall, 700 mm wide, and 1,140 mm long. That said, short lady riders may find it challenging to ride with the Burgman Street 125 EX during heavy traffic.
The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX is surprisingly reliable.
Carmudi Philippines was able to ride the small scooter from the company’s plant in Laguna to Batangas. Through the course of our journey, the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX managed to handle the roads that led to our destination.
The brakes performed admirably, providing riders with dependable stopping power and Suzuki’s new SEP-Alpha engine proved to be capable enough during most parts of the trip.
Its continuously variable transmission system also delivers smooth transitions in various speed ranges.
Nevertheless, the motor may leave you wanting for more power when going uphill so do consider taking routes that will not require you to take on steep roads.`
The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX is a solid option for those looking for a unique ride. Yes, it does have striking cosmetic features but it also packs appointments that make it a comfortable and reliable motorcycle.
The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX is priced at P92,400.
