Suzuki Philippines unleashed the GSX 8S not too long ago, and its arrival heralded a new competitor in the country’s naked bike category.
The Suzuki GSX 8S comes with features like aggressive-looking LED lights and position lights, a colored digital thin-film transistor multi-information display, chinky 17-inch wheels, inverted telescopic forks at the front, and a link-type suspension setup at the rear.
Power comes from a 776 cubic centimeter (cc) engine mated to a six-speed constant mesh transmission. The said combo produces a maximum of 83 horsepower (hp) with 78 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque.
Other notable features include its bi-directional quick shift system as well as its short sporty muffler design.
The Suzuki GSX 8S is priced at P585,000.
Holding the fort for Yamaha is the MT-07.
The Yamaha MT-07 dons a muscular look with an LED projector headlamp complemented by LED signal lights at the fore, an unclad engine accompanied by an exposed chassis frame, and a rear end decorated by sexy taillamps.
In between the rider’s thighs is a 689cc, two-cylinder, four-stroke, liquid-cooled engine mated to a six-speed constant mesh transmission. This setup makes 75 horses and 67Nm of pulling power.
Owners will benefit from its inverted LCD instrument cluster, 17-inch Michelin Road 5 tires that come as standard, as well as its duo of 298 millimeter (mm) front disc brakes and 245mm rear disc brakes.
The Yamaha MT-07 comes with a sticker price of P499,000.
Another viable option for those looking for a naked bike in the country would be the Honda CB 650R.
The neo sports cafe-inspired motorbike features unique appointments such as a large circular LED headlamp paired with LED turn signals, retro-modern fairings, and its large, uncovered engine.
Speaking of which, the Honda CB 650R packs a 649cc powerplant married to a six-speed manual clutch transmission system. In unison, the two make a whopping 93hp and 63Nm of torque.
Further notable features offered by the bike include its Showa front suspension, its 10-stage pre-loaded swingarm rear shock absorbers, as well as its modern-looking instrument panel.
The Honda CB 650R will set you back P519,000.
