As its upcoming unveiling draws close, Suzuki Philippines Inc. (SPH) is eyeing to sell around 400 units of the automatic version of the S-Presso every month.
SPH Auto Sales Manager Jude Racadio shared the target volume in a chance interview at the recently-concluded 2023 Auto Focus Summer Test Drive Festival.
Racadio expressed firm belief that the monthly goal would be reached, sharing that the nameplate (which is available in manual transmission kind) already had a good following in the country.
While sales of the Suzuki S-Presso GL MT had an average of 300 units sold per month, Racadio told Carmudi Philippines that the company has sales goal of rolling out 500 units each month for the two variants of the S-Presso — with majority of the number coming from one with the automatic gearbox.
“We are confident that S-Presso would generate 400 examples from the AGS and 100 from the manual transmission type,” Racadio noted.
“The car speaks for itself as the brand is built on customer confidence,” he added.
Priced at P660,000, the Suzuki S-Presso is powered by a three-liter, 12-valve 1.0-liter K10C engine with variable valve timing technology that can deliver as much as 67 horsepower and 90 Newton-meters of torque.
The mill of the forthcoming version is mated to a five-speed Auto Gear Shift (AGS) system. To make it more fuel efficient, the vehicle has an engine automatic stop-start feature that turns off the powertrain a few seconds after having a full stop.
Other features that are available in the forthcoming Suzuki S-Presso AGS include the seven-inch touchscreen audio system, and safety features like the hill-hold control and electronic stability program.
Further, the Suzuki S-Presso AGS shall come in 14-inch two-toned alloy wheels and will be offered in four body colors namely Sizzle Orange, Fire Red, Metallic Gray, and white.
More details about the Suzuki S-Presso AGS shall be given as its official launch is set real soon.
To note, the Philippines is said to be the first country outside India to manufacture the S-Presso badge.
