Suzuki Philippines Incorporated has joined the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) for the second consecutive year.
According to the local wing of the Japanese motorcycle company, it has returned as the official motorcycle partner of the league for the 2024 season.
“This partnership between a powerhouse brand and the MPBL also known as ‘Liga ng Bawat Pilipino,’ strengthens the latter’s mission of discovering and developing exceptional basketball players across the country. With that, Suzuki Scooters take center stage as the flag bearers of the brand, perfectly complementing the fast-paced action on the court,” Suzuki Philippines Incorporated said in a press release.
Team Suzuki took part in the MPBL 2024 season tip-off at the Calasiao Sports Complex in Pangasinan.
Attending the event were MPBL Founder Senator Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao; Commissioner Kenneth Duremdes; Board Member Joseph Ramos; Pangasinan Governor Ramon Guico III; Calasiao, Pangasinan Mayor Kevin Roy Macanlalay; and La Paz, Abra Mayor Joseph Bernos.
With them were Suzuki Philippines Marketing Communications Group Head Edelyn Yanilla, Product Marketing and Data Group Head Victoria Caringal, and Field Marketing Group Head Johnny De Guzman.
Suzuki Philippines Incorporated looks to spice up the live games with half-court shootout competitions. Winners of the segment will take home a Suzuki Avenis.
Product displays and exclusive event deals from Suzuki Philippines are also expected during basketball games.
This year three new teams will enter the league: the Abra Weavers, Pangasinan Heatwaves, and Tarlac United Force. They, alongside other basketball teams, will do their best to defeat the Pampanga Giant Lanterns, which are the reigning champions.
