The Suzuki Eeco was displayed at the 2024 Philippine Commercial Vehicle Show. What engine is possibly fitted in the Eeco?
The Suzuki Eeco might be powered by a 1.2-liter Advanced K-Series dual jet, dual variable valve timing gasoline engine.Such is a strong possibility as the aforementioned model was displayed at the 2024 Philippine Commercial Vehicle Show — possibly to check the market’s interest in it. Eventgoers saw the vehicle together with the Ertiga Hybrid dressed as a taxi, Carry in utility van and public utility vehicle Class 1 forms, and the APV.
Based on the photos posted in the company’s official Facebook page, the Suzuki Eeco van showcased at the show is in cargo van configuration. Its rear spacious compartment comes with a flat floor and a cage-type divider for the front occupants.
It is also equipped with a two sliding and a tailgate that provides access to the cargo area.
SPH has yet to announce whether it will introduce the said nameplate to the local market. While waiting, below are some notable details about the vehicle.
The Suzuki Eeco measures 3,675 millimeters (mm) long; 1,475 mm wide; and 1,930 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,350 mm and has a turning radius of 4.5 meters.
Powering the model is the 1.2-liter Advanced K-Series dual jet, dual variable valve timing gasoline engine that can dish out a maximum of nearly 80 horsepower and 104.4 Newton-meters of torque. The same engine, mated to a five-speed manual transmission, allows the vehicle to have a 19.71 kilometers-per-liter fuel efficiency.
In India, the Suzuki Eeco boasts more than 11 safety features that include engine immobilizer, illuminated hazard switch, dual airbags, anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, child lock door functions, reverse parking sensors and dual airbags.
Once it becomes a part of the local Suzuki commercial vehicle lineup, the Eeco will directly compete against the Toyota Lite Ace.
