Suzuki Philippines Inc. (SPH) will source its Jimny units again from Japan instead of having their examples from India.
Based on the information shared to Carmudi Philippines, the local distributor decided to get its supplies from the brand’s home country was not to increase the possible number of units to be shipped to local shores, but to cut down the costs in bringing it here, which, in turn, will help mitigate the possible abrupt rise of its latest sticker price.
The source explained that getting the Suzuki Jimny vehicles from Maruti Suzuki India Limited would be much more expensive since global fuel prices drastically rose in the recent past and that the vehicle’s parts have to be shipped to India from Japan, putting additional stress on expenditures in the process.
The aforementioned move from SPH will surely be a welcome development to purists in the country since the nameplate will be procured directly from Japan.
To note, SPH started to have its Suzuki Jimny units in May 2021.
As posted in the SPH website, the Suzuki Jimny is currently wearing the following sticker price:
Equipped in the Suzuki Jimny is the 1.5-liter K15B engine that can deliver nearly 101 horsepower and 130Nm of pulling power. The mill comes in either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic slushbox. All variants are in four-wheel-drive format.
