Following the teaser photos posted over social media last week, Suzuki Philippines Inc. (SPH) has unveiled the all-new Celerio.
SPH General Manager for Automobile Norihide Takei said that the nameplate’s latest generation “has evolved into a compact car that will make people's life easier, more convenient" and allow one to “express personality in an age where diversity is expected."
“We are confident that the new Celerio will exceed the expectations of customers who seek for both practicality and individuality,” he added.
The hatchback model from India now sports a three-dimensional curved surface that veered away from the previous boxy look. The vehicle now wears 15-inch alloy wheels — slightly bigger compared to the previous iteration.
On the inside, the all-new Suzuki Celerio features a 6.2-inch touchscreen audio unit with weblink 2.0, Bluetooth and USB connectivity. The sound system can be controlled with the use of the buttons found on the steering wheel.
Further, SPH said that the vehicle offers 295 liters of luggage space “with 60:40 split folding rear seats to produce more space for storing bigger items.”
Powering the car is a 998cc K10C Dualjet engine that has the capacity to produce 67 horses and 89Nm of pulling power. The power mill is either mated to a five-speed manual slushbox or an Auto Gear Shift (AGS; an automated manual transmission featuring Intelligent Shift Control Actuator).
As shared during the virtual press conference, the all-new Celerio mustered 28.25kpl as observed by the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP).
SPH also said that the all-new Suzuki Celerio comes with an Engine Auto Stop Start System (EASS) that shuts off the engine when the vehicle is in idle to prevent unnecessary fuel consumption and help limit tailpipe emissions and engine noise.
Moreover, the latest offering boasts numerous safety technologies such as the Suzuki TECT (Total Effective Control Technology) that efficiently absorbs and disperses energy in the event of collision; anti-lock braking system and electronic stability program.
The vehicle is also equipped with dual airbags, seatbelt pretensioners, rear parking sensors and hill-hold control.
Available in Arctic White, Glistening Gray, Fire Red, and Speedy Blue Metallic, the all-new Celerio has a retail price of P708,000 for the GL manual variant, and P754,000 for the GL AGS option.
SPH will officially launch the all-new Suzuki Celerio to the public tomorrow through its official social media pages.
