Suzuki to boost vehicle production in India
Suzuki Motor Corporation will soon boost its vehicle production capabilities after announcing that its automobile and motorcycle subsidiaries in India agreed to purchase land in Haryana.

Suzuki said that the soon-to-rise automobile facility will start production by 2025 while the motorcycle plant's opening has yet to be determined.In a statement, the Japanese automaker said both the Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) and Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL) have “agreed with the State of Haryana, India” to acquire approximately 3.2 square meters of land for automobile production, and 400 square meters for the motorcycle plant — both in Kharkhoda, Haryana.
Suzuki said that the move is in line with Suzuki’s management strategy to provide “choices of mobility in India where there is continuous economic growth, and strengthen production capacity along with the growth of the Indian automobile market.”
The targeted start of operations for the soon-to-rise automobile facility (which has an eyed production capacity of 250,000 units for the first year) will be in 2025. The motorcycle plant’s operation and capacity has yet to be determined.
The company noted that Suzuki already has automobile manufacturing plants in Gurgaon and Manesar in Haryana, as well as in Gujarat. Meanwhile, the Suzuki motorcycles produced in India are from Haryana too. The total production volume for fiscal year 2021 is at 1.66 million units for automobiles and 750,000 million units for motorcycles.
