Suzuki's Gixxer Club PH celebrates 8th-year with 2-day trip

The Suzuki Gixxer Club of the Philippines (GCPH), alongside Suzuki Philippines (SPH), celebrated its eight-year with a two-day trip to Pansol Laguna. 

Club members kicked off the ride at SPH’s headquarters. The scenic ride traversed through Casile round-about to Jose Yulo Boulevard, Mayapa, Checkpoint and Crossing culminating at Villa Caridad Leisure Resort in Pansol. 

“The Suzuki Gixxer has been a beloved motorcycle among Filipino riders and the Gixxer Club of the Philippines stands as a testament to its enduring appeal for over eight years,” SPH wrote in a press statement. 

The Suzuki Gixxer is a middleweight motorcycle that has been a popular choice for many Filipino enthusiasts. 

Its smaller version — the Suzuki Gixxer Fi — is fitted with a 154 cubic centimeter (cc) engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission system. The setup can generate 19 horsepower with 14 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque and clocks in at 50 kilometers per liter, according to the local wing of the Japanese motorcycle brand. 

Disk brakes, housed inside 17-inch wheels, handle deceleration and halts. The said wheels are shod with a 100/80 tire at the front and a 140/60 tire at the rear. Suspension-wise, the Suzuki Gixxer Fi gets a long front telescopic fork and a swing arm-type setup at the rear. 

On the other hand, the bigger and beefier Suzuki Gixxer 250, gets a 249 cc engine paired with a six-speed constant mesh transmission. In unison, the setup makes around 26.1 horses and 22.6 Nm of pulling power. 

It comes with disc brakes (front and back) with anti-lock braking, for improved safety. They are housed in 17-inch wheels wrapped with a 110/70 tire at the front and a 150/60 tire at the rear. 

In terms of suspension, The Suzuki Gixxer 250 is slapped with a telescopic front fork with coil springs and oil dampening as well as a swing arm-type set up at the rear, also with a coil spring and oil damper. 

“Beyond the motorcycle itself, the strong sense of community fostered by the Gixxer Club of the Philippines has been instrumental in maintaining its popularity. Members share a passion for riding and create lasting bonds through shared experiences, events, and rides,” the company noted.

According to Suzuki Philippines (SPH), a total of 221 riders from various chapters including the National Capital Region (South and Main), Laguna, Batangas, Cavite, Rizal, Quezon, Bicol, Bulacan, Pampanga, Aklan, and Capiz joined the anniversary ride.
