Taguibo Bridge Nearing Completion--DPWH
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will soon open the augmented Taguibo Bridge in Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.
In a statement, DPWH Secretary Mark Villar was quoted that the Taguibo Bridge will have two additional lanes and announced that it will soon be opened.
The statement added that DPWH Regional Office 13 Director Pol Delos Santos reported that the construction of a new bridge is at 98-percent completed.
Delos Santos said that they are fast-tracking the full completion of Taguibo parallel bridge for it to align with the four-lane roadway and allow more motorists to travel to and from Butuan City and its neighboring provinces.
Started in 2015, the PHP372-million bridge widening project funded under the General Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2015-2017 involves the construction and asphalt overlay of a 600-meter concrete bridge with two lanes including payment of affected properties for the right-of-way.
"The construction of Taguibo Bridge is part of the DPWH’s initiative of connecting rural and urban communities by building and improving national bridges," Villar was quoted as saying.
