Tennis Grand Slam Champ Naomi Osaka is Nissan's New Brand Ambassador
Nissan has a new brand ambassador that's probably the most popular tennis player as of the moment--2018 U.S. Open champion Naomi Osaka.
Osaka is a 20-year-old tennis player and the first Japanese to win a women's singles Grand Slam by beating Serena Williams in this year's U.S. Open final. Nissan officially announced that Osaka is its new brand ambassador at the Japanese automaker's global headquarters in Yokohama.
The Grand Slam champion decided to join Nissan because she looks up to the brand's strong Japanese DNA and competitive spirit. "This week has been a dream come to life, and I'm so honored to represent Japan and Nissan on the world stage. The brand is always challenging expectations, and I look forward to bringing its vision for driving excitement to new audiences around the world," said Osaka.
Nissan says Osaka will appear in global promotions and advertising for Nissan. Nissan will also support Osaka by providing Nissan vehicles at her tour destinations. Osaka's Grand Slam has attracted multiple brand sponsorship aside from Nissan. She has also partnered with Adidas, Yonex, Nissin Foods, Wowow, and Citizen.
