‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ Revisits Iconic Truck Chase from ‘T2’
It may be hard to imagine today, but 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day' was the biggest deal of its day. Released in 1991, the movie made an instant star out of child actor Edward Furlong and solidified Arnold Schwarzenegger's foothold as an action film legend. But three inferior follow-ups later, and the fever-pitch popularity that surrounded the second installment of the series has become but a memory.
Still, there's no denying the film's iconic status, thanks to its many immensely memorable scenes. One of these feature Arnie's T-800 character, along with Sarah and John Connor cramped in a Chevy pickup desperately trying to escape a towering truck driven by the main villain, the mercurial T-1000 played with gleeful relish by actor Robert Patrick. The scene was so iconic, in fact, that the latest movie in the series, Terminator: Dark Fate, will have its own version of it.
The movie’s first official trailer dropped this week and, long-time fans were treated to a big reveal--Linda Hamilton, who was last seen in Judgment Day, will reprise her role as Sarah Connor. The trailer shows Connor in a beat-up Land Cruiser J80, as she attempts to rescue two new characters from an upgraded T-1000. Watch the new trailer below.
Now here’s the semi-truck scene in T2 for comparison.
Notice the similarities?
'Terminator: Dark Fate' will be in theaters beginning November 1, 2019.
