Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) has formally announced the arrival of the all-new Civic in the market.
The local introduction of the latest generation model — touted as the ‘best-Civic ever’ — was made via a virtual launch on HCPI’s official Facebook page.
The newest iteration of the model (which boasts high-tech features and athletic and elegant looks) is targeted to continue the growing number of sales for the nameplate.
Since its introduction in the country in 1991 up to last month, there have been more than 132,000 Civic units here.
The overall “Exhilarating Civic” design focuses on three core values namely Design, Dynamics, and HMI (Human Machine Interface).
The latest compact sedan grows longer by 29mm when compared to the outgoing model.
The front fascia houses newly shaped headlights that wear either full LED or projector halogen lamps — with both having daytime running lights. Aside from that, the top two variants are equipped with LED fog lights.
At the side, the all-new Honda Civic wears integrated turn signals on the side mirrors as standard. The hood is now elongated as the front pillar was pushed back by nearly two inches.
The compact sedan features the following wheel options: 16-inch rims on the base model, 17-inch alloys on the mid-range, and 18-inch matte black wheels on the top-of-the-line trim.
The crème de la crème variation of the all-new Honda Civic gets exclusive details such as black-painted side mirrors, door handles, sharkfin antenna and chrome-finished dual-exhaust pipes.
For its interior, the 11th generation all-new Honda Civic welcomes passengers with either seats covered with fabric seats or suede/leather seats (top variant).
All variations of the all-new Honda Civic are fitted with touchscreen display audio systems (either seven or nine inches in size, depending on the trim) that are compatible to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The number of speakers goes as many as 12 pieces.
Powering the all-new Honda Civic is the turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder DOHC VTEC Turbo engine. This powertrain gives out an additional 5hp and 66Nm of torque versus the previous version. This powertrain is paired to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).
Moreover, all variants of the newly-launched version have the Honda Sensing as standard that has the following:
It is also equipped with a monocular camera with a wider field of view combined with improved software offering better vehicle, motorcycle, bicycle, pedestrian and road marking recognition.
Complementing the abovementioned features are Honda’s G-force Control (G-CON) Collision Safety Body, Speed Sensing Door Locks, Multi-View Reverse Camera, and Keyless Entry System. Side Curtain Airbags, Honda LaneWatch Camera, and the Walk Away Auto Door Lock function are exclusive on the RS variant.
Available in five colors namely Morning Mist Blue Metallic, Meteoroid Grey Metallic, Ignite Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl and Lunar Silver Metallic, the all-new Honda Civic is being retailed in three variants at the following prices:
Recently, the all-new Honda Civic received five stars in the New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asia (ASEAN NCAP).
