We’re sure that the Corolla Cross will be brought to Philippine shores this month. How? Toyota Motor Philippines just revealed it last week.
Last August 8, Carmudi received an invite for the digital launch of their “first hybrid crossover." Without revealing any photos, we were told to just "wait for the official invitation."
However, the continuing local triple-crown winner in sales seems to be all excited and proud about their upcoming model that they have dropped the bomb on their social media page Facebook, and actually revealed what will be shown to the public via digital reveal.
“The Corolla we all know and love, now also in a new exhilarating form factor. Witness its unveiling this August 20, 2020 via Facebook & Youtube Live,” TMP stated in their post.
This open-secret for the vehicle launch premiered in Thailand last July as reported by Carmudi.
The Thai-spec Corolla Cross comes in both gasoline and hybrid variants, fitted with a 1.8-liter petrol engine, with the latter adding a 53kW motor.
It also shares the same platform (TGA-C) used by the Toyota C-HR and the Lexus UX.
This latest hybrid model will be added to the local hybrid offerings of TMP, to go with the Corolla Altis, which was launched September last year, and the Prius C.
So, while waiting for next week, we can enjoy the photos that Toyota revealed earlier, just to get a better view of what could be included in Toyota's forthcoming offer in the country.
