Forget bloated sounds, muddy harmonics, wooly bass, or recessed mids--the Limited Edition Mitsubishi Montero Sport is specifically designed to create a dynamic audio experience for music lovers and audiophiles alike.
Officially named the Pajero Sport Rockford Fosgate, this collaboration between Mitsubishi Indonesia and Rockford Fosgate comes with two one-inch dome tweeters in the front, a Flex41 300-watt amplifier, and a 10-inch long-throw subwoofer. It's also equipped with 6.5-inch mid-bass speakers in the front doors and 6.5-inch coaxial two-way speakers at the rear access.
Unlike its more laidback sibling, this SUV offers a much sportier, dynamic style, with a two-tone exterior, 18-inch alloy wheels, an attractive Pajero Sport badge, exhaust finisher, and Pajero Sport Limited Edition emblems on the spare tire cover and tailgate. Its interior comes with luxurious, black leather seats.
Its engine is similar to the current Pajero model, and is still powered by a 2.4-liter 4N15 MIVEC diesel engine that is paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The Pajero Sport Rockford Fosgate can churn out 181 PS (179 hp) and pull with 430 Nm of torque.
This vehicle costs around IDR 535,000,000 (or an estimated PHP 1,982,000). Currently the Montero Sport is popular in the Philippines, and plans to offer this limited edition has yet to be confirmed by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines. Still, there's a strong possibility it could happen, since the company has already released some of their models (like the Lancer EX, and the Outlander) with the Rockford Fosgate audio system.
Plans to create the next-generation Montero/Pajero using similar platforms with the next generation Nissan Patrol are on the way, thanks to Mitsubishi's alliance with Renault and Nissan.
