The Volkswagen Lavida is one of the brand’s offerings in the local compact sedan segment. It has gained traction in the Philippine automotive scene after it was introduced sometime in 2019, thanks to its unique blend of luxury and reliability.

Premium cabin experience
As we’ve briefly covered above, the Volkswagen Lavida brings a certain level of luxury in a segment full of vehicles that lean more toward practicality.
The interior of the VW Lavida features leather seats, a leather-wrapped multifunctional steering wheel, leather-wrapped door trims, a leather-wrapped center armrest with cupholders, glove box with cooler, and a full-sized panoramic sunroof.
Despite the presence of some hard plastics, the cabin of the Lavida should make you feel that you’re riding a European car.
Premium ride and handling
The Volkswagen Lavida doesn’t only look the part; it also rides and handles as advertised.
It’s equipped with cruise control which works electronically to help regulate the car's speed. It reduces the stress on drivers and offers more comfortable rides on long journeys by keeping a constant speed.
On that note, the VW Lavida also features automatic A/C through its Climatronic air-conditioning system. This technology allows separate temperature settings to be made on the driver and passenger sides of the car.
Its 230 TSI with BlueMotion also helps the Lavida achieve a smooth ride in both long and short trips.
Slightly bland exterior
The Lavida’s exterior styling isn’t exactly going to make everyone go loca. The grille leans more towards a clean and composed look rather than something that will turn heads. At the front are subtle touches of chrome that work well with its strong horizontal grille. At the back are rear combination lamps that mimic the styling of the front fascia.
Could use some modern amenities
The Lavida might boast luxurious interior features but it does lack a touch of modern amenities. Its infotainment system, as an example, could use an update.
Those looking for a reliable ride that offers a touch of luxury will be happy with the Volkswagen Lavida. It’s a fitting compact sedan for titos and titas who want to own a European brand without breaking the bank.
The Volkswagen Lavida is priced at P1,171,000.
