The Top 10 Finalists of the Subaru PH Palm Challenge 2017 are...

Subaru Palm Challenge 2017
Motor Image Pilipinas, the exclusive distributor of Subaru vehicles in the Philippines, concluded last weekend, September 9 and 10, the 2017 Subaru Palm Challenge.

Staged on 9th Avenue in Bonifacio High Street in Bonifacio Gobal City in Taguig, the event seemingly had the weather play along with the contestants as it baked them in the scorching heat and followed it with a couple of heavy rain showers during the course of the day. But after nearly 11 hours, Juntie Torres came through as the winner, having stood in place for 10 hours and 57:50 seconds. A close second was Rheden Pinoliad at 10 hours and 57:20 seconds with Alex Neblasca, perennial Philippine winner and the 2016 runner up in the Regional Palm Challenge finals in Singapore, at third with 10 hours 54:49 seconds. Completing the Top 10 in descending order are Don Michael Yap, Mark Joseph Trinos, Carlo Talahib, Sr., Juan Furiscal, Jr., Reggie Purugganan, Lyza Joyce Montejo, and Jaspher Ivy Galantula.

Barring any problems with the documents required from them, all 10 finalists will represent the Philippines in the 2017 Regional Palm Challenge finals in Singapore which will be held from October 27 to November 1, 2017. As has been the tradition of the game, the winner of the finals will drive home a brand-new Subaru vehicle. The local Palm Challenge didn't end on September 9 as the following day, September 10, was set aside for the Collegiate Leg of the Subaru Palm Challenge. After nearly five hours, Vincent Ragudo of Fatima University won the leg with a time of four hours and 51:06 seconds. Shana Costillas and Joyce Enage, both from of Rizal Technological University, took second and third place at four hours and 46:53 seconds and four hours and 46:17 seconds, respectively.

All three contestants take home cash prizes of P5,000 each, while Ragudo takes home an additional P30,000 for his school.
