The Updated 2020 Honda Civic Type R is Coming This Year
Don't look now, but Honda is planning to release its newest 2020 Honda Civic Type R this year.
MotorAuthority reported that its prototype was spotted during a test drive at the Nürburgring, and from the looks of it, suggests more lightweight body panels fitted on its model.
There's a big possibility that Honda will introduce more options in its latest Type R. These might include a more powerful variant, a tamer one with less power, and one designed for grand touring.
Currently, the Type R in the Philippines's Inline 4-Cylinder, Earth Dreams Technology engine has a maximum power that tips at 310 hp @ 6,500 rpm, while its maximum pulling strength comes at 400 Nm @ 2,500 - 4,500 rpm. Its sox-speed manual transmission also has a rev-matching function. Combining all these features gives a more dynamic powertrain for a more intense driving experience.
"Fastest Front-Wheel Drive Car"
The Civic Type R has set the benchmark in the 'Shrine of Speed', the Nurburgring Nordschleife. It garnered an impressive record time of 7:43:80, making it--as Honda claimed--the fastest production front-wheel drive car of its era.
It offers excellent safety features, adding innovations like Walk Away Auto Lock, Speed Sensing Auto Door Lock, and the usual staples found in vehicles: Side Curtain Airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), and Multi-view Reverse Camera.
