Suzuki Philippines Incorporated is yet to formally launch the five-door Jimny in the country.
But before the brand formally unboxes its new offering, Carmudi Philippines got a hold of some reliable information that might possibly end up in the upcoming model's brochures locally.
A reliable source shared that the Philippine-spec five-door Suzuki Jimny will be offered in three variants namely the GL and GLX in monotone options as well as the two-toned GLX grade.
The exterior of the five-door Suzuki Jimny will be nearly identical to the three-door model — with the exception of chrome accents on the fascia.
For obvious reasons, the five-door model will be bigger than the three-door Suzuki Jimny. We have been told that it is 3,820 millimeters (mm) long, 1,645mm wide, and 1,720mm tall. The wheelbase is at 2,590mm.
Inside, the five-door Suzuki Jimny will still retain a four-seater configuration but will offer better legroom due to its longer body. Additionally, the cushioning on the rear seats have been improved to provide occupants sitting on the second row to enjoy the same level of comfort as those sitting at the front.
Luggage space is also improved by 40 percent compared to the three-door Suzuki Jimny. When the rear seats are folded, boot area can be as cavernous as 332 liters.
Power will come from the same K15B 1.5-liter engine fitted in the three-door Suzuki Jimny.
It will also have better brakes with ventilated disc as opposed to the solid disc brakes used on the three-door model.
The probable sticker price for the five-door Jimny might range from P1.558 million to P1.708 million.
Reports told that the expected formal launch for the five-door Suzuki Jimny will be on January 25.
