The 11th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS) kicks off today and here’s what new-energy vehicle (NEV) enthusiasts can expect in the three-day event.

This year’s electric vehicle (EV) expo will play host to the official preview of the BYD Atto3 into the local NEV scene.
Poised to compete with the likes of the Toyota Corolla Cross, the BYD Atto3 packs an electric motor positioned at the front axle, which can put out as much as 214 horsepower (hp) and a top speed of 160 kilometers per hour (kph).
Further, the battery-electric vehicle (BEV) boasts an estimated range of 420 kilometers (km).
Lotus Eletre unveiling
The 11th PEVS will also serve as the venue for the unveiling of the Philippine-market Lotus Eletre.
In Europe, the Lotus Eletre hyper sport utility vehicle (SUV) is equipped with an all-electric powertrain that generates a maximum of 603 to 905 horses with up to 985 Newton-meters of zappy pulling power. Speed peaks at 258 to 265kph.
In terms of range, the global-spec Lotus Eletre offers emissions-free journeys up to 600km.
GWM Ora display
On display today at the 11th PEVS is the recently previewed GWM Ora.
No details about the car’s specifications have been disclosed yet, but the global-market GWM Ora boasts a 420km all-electric range and houses a 48kWh lithium-ion battery.
Other notable features of the GWM Ora includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a keyless entry system, and intelligent adaptive cruise control.
MG 4, Marvel R showcase
Also making an appearance are the two EVs released by Morris Garages (MG) not too long ago.
The MG 4 electric hatchback’s selling point is its slim, one-pack battery that offers up to 435km of all-electric range.
Charging the MG 4’s battery pack will only take around 26 minutes using a 14-kilowatt Type-2 DC charger.
As for the MG Marvel R SUV, it boasts a battery unit rated at 70 kilowatt-hours (kWh). On that note, it offers a decent zero emissions range of 402km.
Topping up the MG Marvel R’s battery requires around 43 minutes using a Type-2 DC charger.
Dongfeng EV presentation
Dongfeng will also present its latest lineup of EVs, which will include the Rich 6 pickup truck with a longer range.
Event-goers can check out NEV solutions from the brand that will not only suit one’s personal motoring needs but will also provide a profitable answer to managing an electric business fleet.
Solarius EV Charging
Solarius EV Charging will showcase its EV charging solutions at the auto expo.
To recall, the company has established various charging sites in key locations such as hotels and condominiums.
The 11th PEVS will run from today until Saturday, October 21. The three-day event is staged at the SMX Convention Center at Pasay.
“Expect a number of new vehicle launches from our partners. We have engaging panel discussions, plus the numerous exhibits and displays of the latest EVs and related technologies,” said EVAP President Edmund Araga.
