It would not be surprising should Toyota give the Rush an update soon as its sister from another mother, the Daihatsu Terios, has recently been refreshed.
In Indonesia, the seven-seater model was just given a facelift following its introduction in 2017.
For starters, the upgraded Daihatsu Terios now sports a revamped front fascia with a slimmer grille, smoked headlamps, a lower air intake, and a brushed silver lip. Additionally, the vehicle sits on new 17-inch alloy wheels.
For its cabin, the newly-revealed Daihatsu Terios is fitted with black leather accents on the seats, dashboard, door trims, as well as a soft pad panel.
Further, the spruced-up model is now tech-heavy as well. Among the technological features of the vehicle are the wireless charging dock inside the armrest console, and a seven-inch infotainment system.
Powering the Daihatsu Terios is a 1.5-liter Euro 4, double overhead cam gasoline engine mated to either an automatic or manual gearbox (similar to the Philippine-spec Toyota Rush). Providing the stopping power are ventilated discs in the front and drum brakes at the rear.
Its safety features include six airbags (front, side, curtains).
An upgrade for Toyota Motor Philippines’ entry level sport utility vehicle is also in order following its introduction in 2018. To note, the vehicle (known as the "baby Fortuner") received a mild upgrade in 2020, then launched a Gazoofied version last year.
