Audi Philippines will soon be bringing its e-tron models to the local market by fourth quarter this year.
Last April, Carmudi Philippines reported that two electric models will be shipped to the country: the e-tron GT and the RS e-tron GT. However, based on a tip, PGA Cars (the local importer of Audi vehicles in the country), will also be making available the e-tron SUV to spearhead the the introduction of the e-tron line in the Philippine automotive market.
According to the information received, Audi Philippines will start with the e-tron SUV that is scheduled to arrive in October, followed by the e-tron GT by December and the RS e-tron GT by early next year.
The Ingolstadt-based automaker is targeting to create more than 20 fully- and 10 partially-electric models by 2025. It is also planning to reduce the carbon footprint of its vehicle fleet across the entire lifecycle by 30 percent (compared to 2015 levels).
The electric motor fitted in the Audi RS e-tron GT can provide up to 637hp and 830Nm while the power mill of the e-tron GT has the capacity to produce up 523hp and 640 Nm (when launch control overboost is activated). These are paired to a two-speed transmission that sends power to the Quattro electric all-wheel drive system.
on the other hand, the e-tron SUV has a powertrain that can dish out up to 402hp with Boost mode that can reach a top speed of almost 199km/h.
Further, a fully-juiced up battery for the Audi RS e-tron GT and e-tron GT has a maximum range of 488 kilometers while the e-tron SUV can cover a little over 328 kilometers.
The electric powertrain in the Audi RS e-tron GT and e-tron GT works at 800 volts, which allows fast charging via direct current (DC). Under ideal conditions, charging time from five percent to 80-percent will only take only 30 minutes.
