Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) announced that it will stage the ninth season of the Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Vios Cup on July 1, 2023.
Per the Japanese automotive company's local arm, the first round of the one-make race series is set to take place at the Clark International Speedway, which will start at 9 a.m.
Just like before, on-site spectators can watch the race for free while those who could not make it at the venue can view the heat online via the Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines Facebook Page.
With a mix of both beginners and veteran racers, the 2023 TGR Vios Cup will include race classes, namely Super Sporting, Sporting, and Promotional. Further, celebrities and members of the motoring media will show off their driving skills at the event’s Autocross Challenge.
In addition, TMP also announced that it will be introducing a new race format for the 2023 TGR Vios Cup. In addition, the brand will also treat Toyota fans to a surprise.
TMP also stated that it will hold a bigger and better TGR GT Cup for its e-motorsports fans.
According to TMP, numerous e-motorsports players from all over the country are expected to compete this year. After three qualifying rounds, TMP said, the best of the best will race live in a national finals event, which will be held in a public venue in Manila.
Those who will advance in the said event will then don the country's colors at the TGR GT Cup Asia Regional Finals where they will go against fellow e-racers from neighboring countries.
In addition, winners for the year will also get to race in the next season of the TGR Vios Cup. Here, they will get the chance to race behind the wheel of a real race machine on an actual race track.
Interested participants can register for the TGR GT Cup for free as long as they have a Sony PlayStation 4 or 5 with an active PSN Account and PS Plus Subscription.
The first local round of the 2023 TGR GT Cup will be broadcasted on the Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines Facebook page on June 23, 2023.
