Four years after the Dark of the Moon, a mechanic and his daughter find the Autobot's leader Optimus Prime deactivated. On the other side of the world, a group of scientists backed by a wealthy businessman want to learn the past of the Transformers. Enter the Dinobots.
Priot to the premiere of the much awaited film Transformers: Age of Extinction, the fourth installment in the Transformers franchise, Carmudi Philippines came up with the ultimate list of cars in Transformers 4.
The Autobot's leader has really come on leaps and bounds from a Kenworth K100 cab-over truck in the original 1980's cartoon series to a sportier and more aerodynamic Western Star Truck. Optimus is still massive, sporting a flame paint job with massive chrome accents and a threatening exhaust stack. We bet the old guy will still sound great on that “Roll Out!” call.
The Decepticon turned Autobot once served Megatron, and is one of the fiercest warriors in Cybertron. Now a Bugatti Veyron, Drift sure lives up to its name with its lightning speed of 409 kph and an acceleration from 0-100 kph in 2.4 seconds. The Veyron is the fastest convertible in history- enough said.
The Decepticon’s badass bounty hunter is more ruthless than ever and has found his superpower - upgrading himself by collecting the parts of cybertronians. Lockdown is now an Aventador with a V12 engine, upgraded from the legendary Lamborghini Murcielago. And don’t be fooled by its “friendliest supercar in the world” tag; this car is a street badie to the core.
Stinger, one of the first human-made Transformers, is a sabotage specialist and a spy for the Decepticons. In terms of the car’s dimensions, when converted from its robot-form size, the Huayra (wai-rah) is close to the Camaro. Can we expect a beat down between Bumble Bee and this character? Well, you'll have to wait and see.
The beloved best friend of the protagonist in all three Transformers films, Sam Witwicky, is back and now sports two designs- a retro and modern version. The 1967 Camaro has undergone a major restoration from its rims to its steering wheel, worthy of a muscle car design. The 2014 Camaro coupe car may be involved in a car chase scene and, after all, who wants to waste 323 horsepower and an acceleration from 0-100 kph in 5.9 seconds.
Transformers 4: Age of Extinction premiered in local theaters on June 25, 2014. The film is directed by Michael Bay who also made the first Transformers series. So far, the entire Transformers franchise is worth about $14 billion.
