Toyota commenced the production of the hybrid Innova multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) in Indonesia.
The inaugural production was witnessed directly by the Indonesian Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Indonesian Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Japanese Ambassador Kanasugi Kenji, and Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Asia Region and President of Toyota Motor Asia Pacific Hao Quoc Tien.
Also present were Toyota Indonesia President and Director of PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) Warih Andang Tjahjono, Vice President Director of PT TMMIN Nandi Julianto, Vice President Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) Henry Tanoto, as well as the Board of Directors of PT TMMIN and PT TAM.
“The production of the Kijang Innova Zenix is our effort to continue to contribute to the development of the Indonesian automotive industry. We would like to express our gratitude for the strong support from the Government of Indonesia in developing the national automotive industry and to the Indonesian people who have placed their trust in the Kijang as the vehicle of choice for Indonesian families for seven generations. Of course, we continue to strive to develop and improve the performance of the Kijang, to be able to contribute more to the Indonesian nation and answer increasingly diverse customer needs, especially when entering the challenges of the current electrification era,” said President Director of PT TMMIN Warih Andang Tjahjono.
On Toyota Indonesia’s website, the Innova hybrid is available in three variants: the G Hybrid Type, V Hybrid Type, and Q Hybrid Type. They are priced at Indonesian rupiah Rp458.000 million (P1.664 million), Rp522.150 million (P1.897 million), and Rp601.150 million (P2.184 million), respectively.
