On the other hand, the group manufactured 6,545,784 vehicles for the first seven months of 2023 and showed an improvement of 10.2-percent when compared to January-July 2022 figures.

Toyota still held the biggest contribution to the said number, producing 809,400 vehicles in its manufacturing facilities around the world and growing by 14.6-percent over the same period in 2022.

Meanwhile, production for Daihatsu and Hino slowed down by 15 and 16 percent, correspondingly, after they were only able to make 96,331 and 12,616 units.

In a statement, TMC said that the overall rise in sales and production is the result of the recovery from the impact of semiconductor shortages as well as on the effects of COVID-19.

“Global and overseas production both reached record highs as a result of improved production capacity in each region in response to solid demand,” TMC explained.

“We will continue to carefully monitor the parts supply situation and make every effort to deliver as many vehicles as possible to our customers at the earliest date,” the company added.

In January this year, TMC said that it is eyeing a production volume 10.6 units by yearend of 2023.
