Toyota GR GT Cup PH winners head to Malaysia for Asia Finals

The winners of the Toyota Gazoo Racing (GR) Gran Turismo (GT) Cup Philippines will head to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the Asia Finals of the prestigious e-motorsports series. 

Luis Moreno (photo below), Enzo Ison, and Russel Reyes will head to the Connexion Conference and Event Center on October 13, 2024. Should they rise above their rivals, the country’s e-racers could represent Asia at the Global Finals to be held later this year. 

“We are thrilled to continue to push the boundaries of e-Motorsports in the region with the fifth edition of the Gazoo Racing Gran Turismo Cup Asia Finals. At Toyota Gazoo Racing Asia, we are committed to sharing the excitement of motorsports with a wider community, especially the next generation of enthusiasts,” Toyota Gazoo Racing Asia Vice President Preston Tan said. 

Platforms like the GR GT Cup provide an opportunity for talented racers to showcase their skills while also driving our mission of innovation and continuous improvement. The dedication and passion of this year’s finalists reflect the spirit of motorsports, and we look forward to seeing how they inspire the future of racing,” he added. 

Moreno, Ison, and Reyes will duke it out with other e-racers from neighboring countries. Below is a list of the sim racers who qualified for the Toyota GR GT Cup Asia Finals 2024:

The group will showcase their skills as they go wheel-to-wheel at iconic circuits, namely the Sardegna Windmills, Nürburgring GP, and Fuji Speedway on “Gran Turismo 7” for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 using a selected lineup of Toyota race cars. 

On Sunday, the race will be livestreamed on Toyota Gazoo Racing Asia and Toyota Motor Philippines’ Facebook pages. The broadcast will be hosted by Singapore’s Victoria Cheng, alongside local commentators.
