Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is set to fire up the weekend as its one-make race series for the year will have its season-opener on this Saturday (July 1).
Per TMP, fans may enter the gates of Clark International Speedway in Pampanga as early as 9 a.m. for the Round 1 of the Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Vios Cup 2023. Admission is still free to the public.
Meanwhile, those who cannot go on-site may watch the the ninth season of the motorsport series online through the official Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines Facebook page.
For the upcoming season, the TGR Vios Cup returns with the classic Circuit Championship, but with a big season twist. According to the leading country’s automotive manufacturer, the third leg will feature endurance racing — a first since the series debuted in 2014.
In addition, Enzo Pineda — who used to compete at Toyota Vios Cup Autocross — will be competing at the Circuit Promotional Class while Troy Montero is back to race against Super Sporting Class racers.
Further, the event will also mark the return of the popular Autocross Challenge featuring social media personalities of diverse backgrounds. Online stars Macoy Dubs and Genesis Redido will be joining the class for the upcoming season, along with cyclist Ezra Domingo, and sportscaster Apple David. Reph Bangsil and Arianne Bautista will return to the races while Carla Lizardo and Megan Young also be seen at the track for the Autocross.
Moreover, race fans can get the full TGR experience by also trying out the TGR GT Cup racing rigs, as well as participating in activities and getting chances to win prizes from TMP and TGR Vios Cup sponsors.
The TGR Vios Cup 2023 is organized in cooperation with Bridgestone and Petron. Other sponsors are Denso, 3M, AVT, ROTA, OMP, Tuason Racing, myToyota Wallet and Kinto One.
