What is the demonstration project for?
The program is focused on optimizing advertising revenues.Who are the collaborators for the demonstration project?
The demonstration project is led by TMSPH in cooperation with Flare Inc., Toyota Financial Services Philippines Corporation, and Toyota Daihatsu Engineering and Manufacturing Co., Ltd..Specifically, the program will measure the effectiveness of wrap advertisements of fleet vehicles based on vehicle location information using the GPS data sent from mobile apps.
The aforementioned demonstration project will be led by TMSPH, in cooperation with Flare Inc., a company that develops and operates mobility-related businesses such as wrap advertising); Toyota Financial Services Philippines Corporation (TFSPH), the local automotive distributor’s sales finance arm; along with Toyota Daihatsu Engineering and Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (TDEM), Toyota’s regional office in Asia.
For a span of six months, TMSPH will serve as an advertiser and will promote TFSPH’s Kinto One full-service lease product using ten fleet vehicles throughout the National Capital Region, Laguna, as well as other neighboring cities.
TMSPH said that unlike outdoor advertising in fixed locations like billboards, the demonstration project enables the company to collect a broad range of data and knowledge relating to advertising effectiveness by using cars that move in wide areas for advertising.
“We can also measure advertising effectiveness more accurately by using and checking GPS-based vehicle position information sent from drivers' smartphones and real-time traffic data collected at each location, instead of using data obtained from a periodic traffic census,” the firm added.
Further, TMSPH is also aiming to offer “more reasonable and satisfactory mobility advertising services” to those who want to maximize cost efficiency and customers who want to trim down costs for owning and using cars by receiving advertising revenue.
Moreover, the project also has the potential of creating a variety of new mobility businesses, including flexible advertising campaigns using digital advertising vehicles and operational management of fleet vehicles through an effective use of apps and GPS.
“We are always excited to try new technologies, and Flare has given us the opportunity to do so. We are looking forward to working closely with Flare in testing their system and application to improve our internal marketing studies,” TMSPH President Cristina Arevalo was quoted as saying.
