Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) proves that its offerings remain ahead of the competition as it launches the latest addition to its hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) lineup — the 2022 Toyota Camry Hybrid. The local arm of the Japanese carmaker looks to cap the year with another milestone as it adds another electrified model to its roster.
“A favorite among customers worldwide, the Toyota Camry is well-loved for its powerful elegance that comes with quality, durability, and reliability. We have redefined greatness with this executive sedan. This is leadership that remains to be responsible,” said TMP President Atushiro Okamoto during the launch program of the vehicle streamed to online audiences.
The Philippine-spec 2022 Toyota Camry Hybrid builds upon the technology and innovative concepts found on the Prius, Corolla Altis Hybrid, and the Corolla Cross Hybrid. Its hybrid system dynamically and seamlessly switches from gasoline engine to hybrid battery based on speed, acceleration, and driving conditions.
Under the hood is a 2.5-liter V HEV engine mated to a CVT. The 2022 Toyota Camry Hybrid’s powertrain setup offers a respectable power output of 175 horses and a maximum torque of 221Nm.
Outside, the electrified Camry is outfitted with bi-beam LEDs, LED DRLs, LED fog lamps, and LED rear combination lamps. An executive sedan through and through, the 2022 Toyota Camry Hybrid sports a very convenient hoodlift assist.
Inside, owners can find plenty of leather accents including those on the steering wheel, the seats, and on the door trims.
Tech-wise, the hybrid Camry is also equipped with a seven-inch multi-information display, as well as a nine-inch display audio with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto paired with a nine-speaker JBL sound system.
Toyota also fitted the hybrid version of the Camry with a wireless charger, allowing owners to recharge compatible mobile phones without having to worry about cords. It also has a moonroof that tilts and slides for convenience.
In terms of safety, The 2022 Toyota Camry Hybrid comes with a suite of features including ABS, vehicle stability control (VSC), and hill-start assist (HSA). It also has the Toyota Safety Sense which adds a pre-collision system (PCS), automatic high beam (AHB), lane trace assist (LTA), lane departure alert (LDA), and dynamic radar cruise control (DRCC).
The new Camry comes in Platinum White Pearl Mica, Metal Stream Metallic, Attitude Black Mica, with prices starting at P2,335,000. According to TMP, reservations for the 2022 Camry Hybrid starts on December 11.
