Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is eyeing to sell 1,000 units of the all-new Avanza per month. If achieved, it will almost double the average 2021 monthly sales of the seven-seater vehicle.
TMP Assistant Vice President for PR and Communications Elvin Luciano shared the company’s goal following the multi-purpose vehicle’s third-generation's official launch.
The target buyers for the newly introduced offering, Luciano shared, are the heads of families that are first-time car buyers.
“They are choosing the car, based on the needs of the whole family, and in the case of most Philippine households, that includes extended family members,” Luciano told Carmudi Philippines.
Luciano shared that last year, the company sold “more than 700 units per month on average” with the second-generation Avanza.
To note, the seven-seater model sports a more modern look and is equipped with more value-for-money features.
Offered in four grades, the price of the all-new Toyota Avanza ranges from P813,000 for the base model trim up to P1.039 million for the top-of-the-line variant. The vehicles are powered by either a 1.5- or 1.3-liter naturally aspirated power mill paired to a manual or continuously variable transmission.
“The Philippines loves commercial vehicles or CVs. Through the years, MPVs have served as a practical choice for the day-to-day needs of Filipino families,” TMP President Atsuhiro Okamoto said at the vehicle launch.
“And we love giving our customers choices! That is why, we are reintroducing our reliable, tried-and-tested model in the compact MPV segment. I am sure this full model change of this well-loved family car will bring more happiness for all,” he added.
